Karla grew up in Sunbury, Ohio and after high school graduation, her father’s job took her and her parents to Venezuela for a year. From there, they were transferred to Okinawa, Japan where Karla lived for three years working for and attending the University of Maryland, Far East Division.
Upon returning to the Columbus area she started her career with Ohio State Optical Company as a receptionist. After just a short while, Karla moved into the business office and managed many of the administrative operations. By the mid-1980’s, Karla began her apprenticeship in optical dispensing and earned her opticians license in 1987 as well as being certified by the American Board of Opticianry. Karla continued as a licensed optician with Ohio State Optical until February 2019, at which time she joined Northwest Vision Center.
Over the years Karla has developed a keen eye for eyewear styling, dispensing, frame buying and brings with her much experience in the optical industry. Karla and her husband of 37 years, Bob, reside in Powell. They have twin son Ben and Brady. She loves spending time with her family, traveling and gardening.
